It is commonly elevated in squamous cell carcinomas of the lung, cervix, and head and neck, making it a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Unlike SCCA1 (SERPINB3), SCCA2 is thought to have a stronger association with inflammation and tumor progression.
